Friends of the Airfield and the Valley (FAV)
Friends of the Airfield and the Valley (FAV) is a cross-community group established under the auspices of Wilbarston Parish Council and is dedicated to informing the community about the Innova proposal to develop a solar farm and a battery energy storage system in the local area.
The proposed Innova 99.9MW solar farm and 100MW Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) at the former RAF Desborough Airfield constitutes a significant development affecting Wilbarston, the surrounding villages (Stoke Albany, Pipewell and East Carlton), the town of Desborough, and the wider Welland Valley.
This proposal includes large-scale solar infrastructure, battery energy storage, and associated substation development within the Welland Valley.
FAV provides updates, information, and resources to help local residents understand the proposal, its potential impact, and how to engage with the planning process.
Our aim is to present clear, accessible information so that the community can stay informed and make their own views known.
For more information about the group and our purpose, please visit our About us/ Mission page.
Below you will find the revised Innova proposal presented on 12th March 2026 to Wilbarston Parish Council, along with a feedback form to complete regarding the revised proposal.
